Woven flat strips lock into a rigid basket with a firm base and a scalloped rim. Line them up on a favour table and they hold a straight row all evening.

The weave is tight and the ends are tucked in, but check the rim before handing one to a toddler — a strip that has worked loose can be sharp at the tip.
